Teta doesn't really use technology. Can she still record?
Yes. We send you a link; you forward it to her on WhatsApp or by text. She taps it, presses one big record button and talks. No app, no account. If that's still too much, record her on your own phone next time you call or visit, and email us the file.
Why is it $45 now and $55 later?
$45 is our founding price: $45 until 31 Oct (23:59 US Eastern time) or the first 100 families, whichever comes first; then $55. The countdown on the site runs to that fixed date and never resets.
When will it arrive? Will it be here in time for the holidays?
Pre-orders are open now. Your founding price of $45 is locked in when you order. We email you a digital preview of your whole book before we print. Once you approve it, we print your hardcover and ship it with tracking, in time for the holidays. If anything changes, we'll email you straight away, and you can choose a full refund.
How much Arabic is in it? I don't read Arabic.
Every page has the English line first, then the same line in spoken Lebanese (the way Teta talks, not formal Arabic) in Arabic script. You can read the whole book aloud in English, and Teta, or anyone who reads Arabic, can read the Lebanese. Your child hears both.
What ages is it for?
Ages 2 to 7. Little ones love hearing their name and Teta's voice. Older kids start reading the English on their own and collecting the words for their jar.
Will the child in the pictures look like mine?
No. The illustrations are the same in every book. What makes it yours is your child's name, Teta's real voice, your family photo painted on Teta's wall, and your dedication.
What photo should I send, and can I send it later?
Any clear family photo where faces are easy to see. You can upload it when you order or reply to your order email with it later, any time before your preview. We paint it in the book's style and you'll see it in your preview.
What is the Word Jar kit?
A printable kit (a fold-up paper jar and word cards) that we email with every order. Print it at home, and add one Lebanese word a night, just like in the story. Share yours with #TetasJar.
Can I give it as a gift?
Of course. Grandparents, aunts and godparents order it too. Write the dedication from you, and ship it to any address in the US, Canada, UK or France. Teta can still record her message from wherever she lives.
Can I change something after I order?
Yes, until you approve your preview. Just reply to your order email.
What if I change my mind?
Full refund any time before you approve your preview. Once it's printed it's made just for your family, so we can't take it back, unless it arrives damaged or misprinted. Then we reprint it for free.
